Benefits of Being a Work At Home Mom

This day in age people look down on work at home moms. As if taking care of your family and being with your kids is something to be ashamed of. Well, it’s the best decision I’ve ever made and I would NEVER go back to working for corporate America or any other entity.

  1. Entrepreneurship

Working from home gives moms, and women, in general, the opportunity to find their passion and purpose. There’s nothing better than owning your own business and being in control of your schedule.

Being a work at home mom doesn’t mean you sit at home all day and do nothing. Get the kids on a schedule and work around it. If they’re school aged it works out even better!

Being a business owner takes dedication, time and motivation. Even when you do it from the comfort of your own home. Stay motivated to accomplish whatever you want.

Examples of work at home business ideas include writing/being an author, graphic design, selling products you create, selling insurance, or even clothing.

If you have to you can work from home for a company until you figure out what it is you want to do.

2. Freedom

Now you can take the kids to doctors appointments without having to call off or risk being fired.

This is also great for those times when your toddler pops up with a high fever in the middle of the night and you still have to go to work.

Working from home or being a stay at home mom gives you the time to devote to your kids.

And vacations! No more waiting for your boss to give you the okay on when to take a much too short vacation.

3. Quality Time With Kids

As moms enter the workforce we can’t ignore the struggle this puts on our children. Which is one of the main reasons I decided working from home would be the best choice.

Our kids need us! Sure camp, school, and after-school activities are fun but do you really want these 18 years to go by only to realize you risked your child’s life for a job that can and will fire you whenever they want.

I was not willing to make that sacrifice. Once we have kids we are completely responsible for them. You can completely accomplish your dreams from home.

For many moms, this is a dream or the end goal. Creating something big enough to make money from home.

The truth is our kids need us more than we need them at the moment. Think about when you’re old and perhaps sickly. Don’t you want them to be there for you? They follow in your footsteps so if you’re not there for them now who says they’ll be there for you in the future.

4. Endless Possibilities

The possibilities really are endless with a business you own and work yourself. Eventually, you can create your own office and grow your business and you like. You just don’t get these opportunities when working for someone else.

Who says you have to do just one thing. You can make multiple streams of income doing various work from home opportunities.

This is the great thing about the internet. There’s so much money to be made online and so many opportunities to explore. Especially if you have your college degree. Tailor your interests to fit business needs.

Connect with people all over the world and provide a service. You can even become a Travel Agent from the comfort of your home.

Final Thoughts:

Whether this is the right choice for you or if you’ve been a stay at home/work at home mom for a while I hope this gives you the motivation to keep going.

Consider what’s truly important in life. At the end of the day, the time we put into our kids and families is much more important than any job or degree.

I never thought I would ever want to work from home but it turned out to be everything I desired as a mom. As my kids grow older I know I don’t want to miss out on any precious moments because of my schedule or from being overworked.

Good Luck!
